CONTEMPORARY ART CENTRE – CUENCA (ESPAÑA)

The Antonio Pérez Foundation opened in 1998. It comprises a total of 35 rooms distributed over 4 floors. The museum exhibits part of a collection that now includes more than 4,000 works, without counting Antonio Pérez’s Found Objects collection.

Besides the monographic spaces, the Foundation harbours many other rooms where different artists coexist, from the most renowned or best-known to the youngest, as well as a small collection of very striking African art.

The route through the museum has not been designed as a linear path: the works are not organised either chronologically or by artists (except the monographic rooms that are described below).

The layout of the museum follows a purely aesthetic line, and it is Antonio Pérez himself who decides where each work will be placed in the different rooms.
