Antonio Saura Room

Standing collection in Cuenca

Another one of the most outstanding rooms, both by dint of the physical space it takes up in the Foundation and its protagonist’s friendship with Antonio Pérez, is dedicated to the other Antonio, the man from the house opposite: Antonio Saura.

Saura has two rooms in the Foundation, one for the exhibition of his paintings and another for his graphic work. Two friends, Saura and Millares, two very likeable young men — as the sculptor Berrocal said to Antonio Pérez when he came to Cuenca for the first time —, two heavyweights of Spanish painting in our country, two artists who went to Cuenca and revolutionised the city and command a pivotal presence in the museum.
