The SPECULARIS Room, designated for temporary exhibitions, is exclusively dedicated to emerging and mid-career artists, serving as support, encouragement, and a launching pad for their artistic careers. One of the main goals and motives of our founder, Antonio Pérez. All projects revolve around the image in its broad spectrum of manifestation.
The name of the room, Specularis, sometimes serves as a connection with the territory. Lapis Specularis or Selenite is a mineral with properties similar to crystal, widely used by the Roman Empire. In the area of Huete, there are a large number of these mines exploited by the Romans, some of which are visitable. In fact, a large part of the crystal used by the Roman Empire in the Iberian Peninsula came from these mines in the Alcarria region of Cuenca.
